Grinding through stats

I break it down so you don't have to.

You can learn a lot just by looking at the "standings" page on For instance:

1. Seattle has given up 13 points on the season. Atlanta is their closest competitor, having given up 49 on the season.

2. The Eagles have scored 52 more points than their opponents, the biggest margin in the league - tied with the Seahawks.

3. The Colts and Eagles have scored the most points (124 and 107, respectively). Third? The Chargers (106).

4. Only one first place team has scored fewer points than their opponents - The Lions. The Jaguars are even at 52-52.

5. The Packers have given up 22 more points than they have scored. Only four teams have given up more than the Packers: the Bengals, the Chiefs, the Saints, and the 49ers. Not good company.

6. The 49ers have given up 49 more points than they have scored, or the equivalent of seven touchdowns.

7. Two teams in the AFC East have not cracked 40 points yet: Miami and Buffalo.

8. Three teams in the AFC South have allowed more than 90 points: Indianapolis, Houston, and Tennessee.

9. Kansas City is on pace to give up 108 more points than they did last year.

10. New England is on pace to score 81 more points than they did last year - and give up 43 more.

11. Arizona has a better point differential than Green Bay - by 25 points.

12. The second place New Orleans Saints have scored 13 fewer points, and given up 58 more points, than the first place Atlanta Falcons.

And finally...

13. The Colts have scored 72 more points than the Jaguars (which is 20 points more than the total amount scored by the Jaguars). The Colts and Jaguars are currently tied for first place in the AFC South.
