Cryptonomicon

Glenn Reynolds has two Cryptonomicon related posts here and here. Remember when reading them that the book is now five years old. The first is basically about the mentality behind calling religious people stupid (as stated by Randy Waterhouse, and predictably using a UNIX metaphor). The second is on the two competing aspects of war, Athena and Ares (as stated by Enoch Root).

If you've never read the book, you should read both passages. If you have, you will just enjoy them more.
