Did you hear?

That if the Redskins win their last home game before an election the incumbent always wins, and if they lose he always loses (for the last 17 elections, anyway)? Did you hear the announcers mention it 5000 times? How about the post game guys an extra 300 times? Or Berman on NFL Primetime?

Well, the Redskins lost. Unfortunately, I think that there may have been a harbinger of bad things to come in that loss, as the Packers were the beneficiaries of a very questionable illegal procedure penalty called on the NFL's worst WR James Thrash that negated a touchdown by Clinton Portis, which would have given Washington the lead. It was a picky and strange call.

Will John Kerry win on an illegal procedure?

The football game knows all.

Signs of the Apocalypse.

In the Bear-49er game, both Paul Edinger and Todd Peterson kicked field goals the bounced off the cross bar and through the uprights. In that same game, each team scored a defensive touchdown of over 70 yards.

Drew Brees and Peyton Manning both threw five touchdowns.

Buffalo scored 38 points despite Drew Bledsoe throwing for 81 yards.
Denver scored only 28 points despite Jake Plummer throwing for 499 yards.

The Packers and Cowboys won their games even though both Favre and Vinny threw three interceptions each.

The following people caught 50 yards touchdown passes:
David Kircus, Detroit Lions
Bernard Berrian, Chicago Bears

The Bears-49ers game featured the Ken Dorsey v. Craig Krenzel rematch from the 2003 Fiesta Bowl that everyone has been waiting for.
