E.S.K. is liveblogging the Brewers

at the WisconsinSportsBar.

  • "Am I the only one who thinks flipping Clark and Weeks is starting to look like a good idea? "

maybe not the only one, but having the superior OBP ahead of the superior SLG is worth a lot more than having the fast guy hit first (in my opinion).

  • True, stealing is overrated, but I think the difference right now is nominal OBP wise. You've got a point though. I didn't think that through enough...

Yeah, you're right, you don't want to flip them.

  • If you look at the OBP trends, I think you'd change your mind. Clark made hay early in the season and is tailing off badly. It's not only steals it's the fact that it allows for small ball. You don't want to force a bat like Weeks to bunt, while Clark is the perfect guy to lay a sac bunt down or slap through a hit and run. In a few weeks the difference in OBP will ne negligable and swapping them allows for more flexibility.

  • truth be told, i don't want either of them bunting-- as it's a waste of an out by one of your players that is most likely not to get out.
