Old news, but worth mentioning.

Barry Alvarez is stepping down as coach of the University of Wisconsin football team after this season.


  • I don't think Alvarez gets enough credit for what a great coach he's been. People talk about the great coaches and mention names like Bob Stoops and Pete Carroll. Both of those guys have done great work, but it's a lot easier to win at Oklahoma and USC than it is to win at Wisconsin. In its history Wisconsin had never won a Rose Bowl without Alvarez; it's won three with him.
