Beltran Victorious.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can read about it, and more importantly, watch the video, here.

In all seriousness, we wish a speedy recovery to Carlos Beltran, and especially to Mike Cameron, who appears to be lost for the season. As Damian Jackson stated after the game:

"Hats off to those guys for giving such an effort for Tom Glavine. Baseball takes a beating for not being physical, guys are dogging it. You hear that all the time. But we're out there without protection, and there are times like this when it's dangerous. People will look at it as one of the top 10 all-ugly incidents. Why not one of the top 10 great efforts?

  • As a Mets fan this was tough to watch last night.

  • This may be the worst player/player collision in the history of sports, and it sucks to see your season possibly sent down the tubes by such a freak occurrence.

  • You are assuming that the season was going up ;-) Oh well, the Mets have both players under contract for next year so who knows, it might be for the best. Beltran wasn't having his best season anyway.

  • I agree, worst collision I've ever seen in beisbol...I cringed every time I watched it last night.

This is a blessing for Beltran...now he can take it easy for the rest of the season and nurse that leg injury instead of trying to prove his worth.

  • Can I just say in front of all of you right now, that if I ever have a medical diagnosis that includes the words "multiple fractures of both cheekbones" I expect everyone I know to do everything in their power to ensure that I have unlimited access to morphine?

  • Cameron ain't the prettiest dude around, maybe this whole facial surgery thing could be a mixed blessing. ;)
