The Bucks make a trade.

The Milwaukee Bucks just dealt Desmond Mason to the Hornets for F/C Jamaal Magloire. This clears up a glut in the Bucks backcourt and gets them an above-average big man in the process. I like it.

  • The columnist at sportsline & reader posts there all think it is stupid, but I'm with Paul. I think it is great. The one thing the Bucks really needed was some bulk at power forward. Bogut, Gadzuric & Magloire with some minutes from Spoons & Joe Smith finally gives them a good 4 & 5.

We all knew Mason was going after Simmons was signed didn't we?

  • Yeah, solid front line. Too bad NBA basketball sucks.

  • True dat. But I still like the Bucks. They were really fun to watch in the Ray Allen days, and they may have something here this year.

And I'm glad to have Alando Tucker and the Badgers starting up soon as well.

  • I like the trade but I think the Bucks gave up to much to pull it off. Desmond Mason and a 1st round pick? That's a little pricey in my opinion but we'll have to wait and see.

I heard that Mason took the trade really hard. Apparently he really liked Milwaukee.

  • I thought the price was high, but then I considered how difficult it is to get a quality C/PF who has bulk compared to how difficult it is to get an athletic 6'5" to 6'7 guy. Plus if the Bucks do well, a late 1st round pick usually doesn't land you a difference-maker.
I do feel for Mason, I got the impression he was a good guy.
