Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell
While I was listening to Extension 720 last night (which, in addition to Dan Drezner also featured Crooked Timber's Eszter Hargittai) I was reminded of something that I forgot to link to earlier. Crooked Timber recently featured a symposium on the excellent novel Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke, which included several excellent posts, including a response by the author.
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is one of the best novels I read this year, and one of the best (but oddest) fantasy novels that I've ever read.
Here's my short review.
