Guest Post: Kirk Cameron

When Kirk Cameron isn't busy discrediting evolution with bananas, he is hard at work making the Left Behind books into a big screen reality. The former Growing Pains star recently contacted us about writing a guest post in an effort to reach more skeptics, and we were more than happy to oblige.

Sex Ed

by Kirk Cameron

Sex is everywhere these days, and kids are becoming sexualized at younger and younger ages, Part of this is caused by our wicked culture, which every good Christian should resist, but a more sinister culprit is our schools, the very place where our kids should be safest.

Sex ed in school, and perhaps more alarmingly, in many homes, is a farce that must be stopped. We know that learning about birth control, STDs, and various unclean sexual acts encourages promiscuity, but this is a minor problem. These programs make a more fundamental error in their approach, and this error is the most destructive lie that our children will hear.

The media seldom reports this one disturbing fact; These programs teach our kids that babies are the result of a male sperm joining with a female egg, combining into one single cell, and gradually growing over the course of 9 months into a human baby. This is an affront to both God and logic.

The Bible teaches us that God created man in his image, which flies in the face of this modern talk of "zygotes" and "embryos." And besides that, it makes no sense! Let's look at the facts:

1. There are one celled organisms known as "amoebas." No amoeba has ever grown into a human.

2. Heathens claim that children are the result of sexual intercourse, however, scientists have found that the overwhelming majority of sex acts, even "unprotected" sex acts, do not result in children. What we have here is a correlation/causation problem. With all of the sex taking place in this country, some children were almost certain to be born within 9 months of a sex act.

3. Jesus himself was not the result of a sex act.

Think about it. People are complex creatures with many complex parts. The eyeball, just by itself, is far to complex to have grown from a single cell. Moreover, these people would have you believe that it grew out of the same cell that produced your arms and legs, but you can't see with your arms and legs, and you can't walk on your eyes.

It says in the Bible that we are created by God, in his image. It doesn't say anything about a complex process involving sinful sexual behavior and creepy one-celled "fetuses." Doesn't it make more sense that we were placed, fully human, into the wombs of our mothers? Clearly, we are created whole, just like Adam and Eve.

I'll leave you with this final thought. We all know that the Darwinist theory of evolution is false. A lie, made up by Satan to fool unbelievers. With all of the complexity in the world it makes no sense that complex organisms evolved from one-celled organisms over billions of years.

That being said, how could you possibly have grown from a one-celled organism in a mere nine months?

The very notion of natural sexual reproduction makes even less sense than this so-called "evolution" if you think about it rationally.

It is just silly.

  • Do you realize that Cameron is married in real life to Chelsea Noble, the actress who played Kate, the hot babysitter? They've been married since "Growing Pains" was on the air. Chelsea Noble also played Danielle, the woman who had a boyfriend named Neil who looked just like George, on an episode of Seinfeld.

  • I didn't know he married her. I thought she was a religious goofball too but wow. He got his character's previous love-interest fired from the show for posing in playboy. Julie was way hotter than Kate.

  • This is wierd Paul. Is this just your creative way of saying Christians are stupid?

By Blogger Brian Hagedorn, at 8:07 PM

  • Such crude terms Brian. No, most certainly not. Many, perhaps most Christians believe in evolution, as I do, and this criticism certainly doesn't apply to them. All that I'm doing here is pointing out that many anti-evolution arguments apply quite well to arguing against gestation. Both are naturaly processes in which a simple organism deveolps into a complex organism.

One thing that really bugs me about literal interpretation of the creation myth is that, if you look at the world around us, God never uses miracles to achieve complex ends, like reproduction. It's always a scientifically observable process, in the end. Even if God did create man in his image, is there any good reason to believe that he didn't involve a monkey in the process at some point? Does it make sense that the first man just appeared here out of no where when all other men ever in history have been born in a very scientifically observable way?

If you take that criticism as me calling you stupid, that was not my intention. It was to use humor to point out a logical contradiction. Now maybe it wasn't that funny, which is always a risk, but it's not so crude as to be a simple insult.

  • Brian, all Christians are stupid by definition. Stupid is defined as believing in something that is irrational. Christians are defined by faith in Christ. Faith is defined as believing something without evidence, which is, by definition, irrational. Therefore Christion = stupid. Sorry man, but I didn't write the dictionary.

  • I am a Christian and I do not believe that I am stupid. Believing in Christ as your Messiah is the best choice you or anyone else can make. Evolution is stupid if you think about it. The whole world came from a spinning dot that exploded. Then, you crawl out of a soup and become a monkey. then you change into a person. When does the brain evolve? when do your feet begin to have a different shape from your hands? Why can't anybody find real fossils of missing links?

  • Evolution has nothing to do with the big bang. Feet differentiate from hands when some change in feet gives greater advantage to that creature. The brain, like everything else in evolution, evolves gradually. There are tons of fossils of missing links. It only takes a quick google search.

  • Good Gravy, what kind of crack is Cameron smoking now? Babies don't come from sex, sperm-meeting-unfertilized egg and the whole nine yards? How does this genius explain In Vitro Fertilization? Frozen Embryos in Fertility Clinics (many of whom have developed into fully functioning human beings) ... not to mention the birth control pill, all predicated on the known, proven science of human reproduction.

Of course, evolution is known, proven science as well, but that doesn't stop yahoos with no clue as to what they're talking about (read: Cameron) blathering incoherently about how it has been "proven" false, and "Satan" created it to trick those of us who aren't smart enough to get the final word on reality from Televangelists like Tim LaHaye.

Guess it was Satan who planted all those fossils, too.

I always find it especially amusing when the hard-core fundy crowd throws out the same tired "arguments" against evolution, time after time-- betraying not just a total lack of understanding of science and evolution, but a near utter inability to critically think, as well. Like, "If men evolved from apes, why are there still apes?"

...Yep, you just sank the good ship Darwin with that logic torpedo, there, Cooter.

Look- the bottom line is, you DID grow from a single cell in your mommy's uterus, and before that, "you" were a sperm and an unfertilized egg. Those are FACTS. Just like a long long time ago, you shared ancestors with other apes. And before that, with your housecat, and your dog. And before that, your ancestors were lizards, then amphibians, then fish, etc. etc. Those are FACTS. If you can't manage to reconcile your religious belief with those facts, that's your problem-- Deal with them or don't deal with them... but please don't keep trying to drag this idiotic, flat-Earth gibberish onto the playing field of science. It's embarrassing. For you.

And no, that's not calling "all Christians" stupid. Last time I checked, most Christians didn't believe the Earth was 6,000 years old, Dinosaurs were on "Noah's Ark", and they sure as hell don't believe the stork- or whatever- brings babies. I'd suspect most intelligent Christians would greatly prefer not to be associated with this nonsense.

  • All faith-based religion is illogical, irrational, and completely irresponsible.
I wonder why more people don't simply attack the basis of Judaism so that it's two bastard children are revealed to be the complete frauds that they are.
Judaism is the Root of All Evil, not greed.
And Kirk Cameron? He's the Uber Idiot.
His Faith is about as convincing as his awful acting.
Grow up Kirk, there is no God you penile retard.

  • "The eyeball, just by itself, is far to complex to have grown from a single cell."

You know the data center hosting your website probably has thousands upon thousands of wires, switches and assorted networking technologies all woven together in a very complex system that interfaces with the thousands of other equally complex system around the world. It is called the internet or something like that.

Just because I cannot fathom how this mass complexity actually functions does not mean it is unknowable. You claim it is. Fool.

Oh and... you can see with other parts of your body, as you mentioned was impossible. Thanks to the science you foolishly oppose with your blind faith, this man is able to see with his tongue.

    Game. Set. Match.
