It's What Plants Crave

MLB has banned water. Yes, that's right. Water. Why?

Because Gatorade gave the order:

Gatorade is Major League Baseball's "official sports drink." So instructions were sent that no player could be seen drinking anything but Gatorade in the dugout. Not even Aquafina, which is the "official water" of MLB. Not even bottles of water with the labels removed.

White Sox clubhouse personnel said if players take bottled water onto the bench, all the bottled water will be removed from the clubhouse as punishment.

Sometimes Mike Judge is scary smart.

  • This will probably actually be worse for performance and health because Gatorade and other sports drinks are not a perfect replenisher and should be mixed with water as either the athlete's taste/needs dictate or in a 1/1 ratio.

In fact, most outfielders probably don't need much gatorade because it isn't like they're doing that much running to exhaust energy and nutrient stores.

  • This BS is also why I can't play a decent NFL football or MLB baseball game on my PC this year.

  • No kidding. The NFL and Baseball should just open their IP to anyone who is willing to fork over X%. It would spur the development of more, and better games, and they would make plenty.
